Naturally, since I just posted my question I found the answer. To anyone else with the same issue: At the technic launcher screen click on the cog wheel next to the exit button and then select the Increase PermGen Size option.

Hello. This concerns a Mac system. So I downloaded technic launcher and used it to run tekkit classic. It ran just fine, but I found it didn't have industrial craft, although it did have build craft which is one of the mods I'm looking for. So I found tekkify and it has pretty much everything I'm looking for. This time when I run it, it get's to the title screen just fine, but when I go to create a new world it gets left on a blank white screen. So did running tekkit classic create files that are interfering with the new mod? Do I need to manually download an older Minecraft? Is tekkify too much for my system? It's a Macbook Pro about 2 years old, OS 10.6.8, 2.3 Ghz Intel Core i5, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Intel HD Graphics 3000. Thanks for any help.
