Is there any redstone next to the Energy Link? The link turns off when receiving a redstone signal.
-
like I said earlier. you DONT use a wooden pipe to output from the energy link. you should only need to use the wood pipe to output from an engine.
You DO need a wooden transport pipe (like engines).
I've had issues with power teleporter pipes. Test with an energy link > Wooden Conductive Pipe > Golden Conductive Pipe > BC machine (i.e. quarry).
Also are the teleport pipes set to receive?

Nah, that's genuinely illegal for us to 'resell' his stuff, because that's an obvious loss to him.
I was wondering if the license conflicted itself, not if it was enforceable by law (Cheap Shot said that we should cool the legality stuff by the way). I think you answered my question anyway.
-
Take this for example http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/842589-125-power-craft-factory-mod-349-snake-game-for-weasel/
The Licence here is bull. Technic could put this in the pack, and has zero obligation (UK law here) to remove it, provided MightyPork can prove there has been actual loss on his part.
The license confuses me.
... neither post links bypassing the official ones.......No-one is allowed to demand money for this mod...
Is he not demanding money (though add income) and then saying no-one can?
Edit: You're also missing the reason why modders are unhappy.

It has been patched now in Java 7 Update 7.

EE3 is apparently going to be a fair bit more balanced.
I believe the Nano Saber is relatively cheap for it's power, it could be made more expensive.

You're welcome.

Setup a portable mincraft installation by following this thread.
I may also post alternative instructions for setting up a portable install. Edit: go here for alternative instructions

Narcisim, as far as analogies go, that isn't the best one; you're equating data that can be replicated without harm to the developer, to something which cannot be replaced easily. The illegality of the issue is also on suppository shaky ground, from CovertJaguars post, it seems an issue of respect rather then those of legality.
It's nice to see that you this thread has improved your views on the Technic, you also get to see both sides of the story presented maturely in one place.
This thread may be a milestone event in improving relationship with modders and ridding Technic of its outstanding issues, we will have to see how the Technic team acts.
-
CovertJaguar stated that it was more a matter of respect, but you point is still valid in a way.
On to the current sengir sabotage discussion, yes he asserted his desires in an childish manner (the only modder I've seen approve his actions was flower child and I've been told that sengir got some backlash from his own community) but nobody is helping themselves by holding past actions against each other. Along as there respective party knows they done wrong (I.e. not asking permissions is bad, attacking end users is also bad) we should move on.
If we keep holding past actions against one another, we will get nowhere.

Just theorising as to why they don't just say Technic is fine, ignoring the issue of the (unknown to the public) list of mods that are used without consent. it is well know that some mod authors detest Technic (I.e. sengir), along with the general hate from a sizeable portion of the community, other modders who are otherwise indifferent to Technic (assuming there are some) would feel it unwise to advertise it as a suitable pack for fear of backlash from fellow modders and the community. There is also the issue of Kaker's past damage. From cheap shot's post, it seems that all modders have some kind-of dislike to Technic as is supported by slowpokes posts.
This is pure speculation and from what your saying is likely to be wrong. you'll have to ask the modders themselves as to the reason for requesting a modpack. I suspect the answer is along the lines of starting a modpack how it should be done (as you stated) and because you regularly speak with the mod authors earning there trust (something which may be difficult for an outside party to do).
On a side-note, I'm aware that direwolf gets ask occasional to produce a modpack, would it be possible for you to make a 'Direwolf season X' pack or will he decide to use the FTB pack?

It's also worth adding pictures and a description about the map, as it stands I have no idea what the map is ,is it an adventure map, a map showcasing builds or you survival world or what?
-
May I ask one thing here, with regards to mod developers not respecting end users and not giving back to the community. They do nothing but give to the community, I sit here daily watching and listening in as they are busting their guts trying to bring the mods up to date...
When I said community in my past post, I was more referring to other developers rather then the end user, I was trying to explain what I thought psicraft was thinking and do not necessary have the same beliefs. I'll edit my post to make this clearer.
I do understand that keeping up with Minecraft code changes is a difficult task and that mod developers are devoting a significant amount of free time for there mods, showing how devoted they are.
-
I can sort of see where psicraft is coming from, the developers have benefited from others sharing code or working together to make forge, so it's like taking from the mod dev community but not giving back. granted this is mostly a non-issue and the developer isn't required to open source their mod because while it uses common ideas, the final product is unique, they can close source it as they wish.
I have wondered why technic has never posted a list of permissions it has, I haven't seen any Technic devs claim that they have all permissions, just that they were working on it.
As slowpoke has mentioned, fanboyism can an issue. If the community are giving Technic a bad reputation, then this will likely make it more challenging to get permissions for new mods.
I'm glad that these threads are allowed to live as it can be interesting to see other's views.
Edit: it's nice to know that we aren't annoying you or anything
-
... Sengit...
Is that intentional, made me smile anyway. Edit: Seems you've corrected it.
What developers have you spoken to about Technic and it's permissions (a response from both you and the Technic devs would be appreciated) as the difference between slowpoke's and technic's claims suggest they are talking to different members the modding community.

Are you using the exe launcher, try the jar launcher as I had a similar issue.
-
I think you may be going about this wrong. The trick to killing someone with quantum is to get them to take it off.
The in-development version of Mystcraft has the ability to create a disarming link book, which apparently makes the user drop there stuff, so this may not be a too difficult trick.
-
It may also depend on how quickly FTB gets updated.
If FTB updates it's mods 10 or so times between Minecraft updates while Technic only updates it's mods 2 or 3, players who want to use the latest mods will chose FTB.
Granted, if FTB goes the way of "update it now, fix it later" then players may prefer a mod pack that goes though more testing like Technic.

This is my own design, it simple to build, requiring no logic gates to move.
The motors on the bottom move the centre frames and the top motors over the red alloy wire, which then trigger to top motors to move the whole frame.

Reminds me of a bug thread reporting that an image would open in IE as experted (in a new tab), but would open the download window in FF. This being caused by the server giving the image a "application/binary" MIME instead of an image MIME.
-
That seems to be the same contents as the jar launcher.
if re-downloading it didn't work then try renaming the .zip to .jar and running it.
Edit: just tested, IE does think it's a zip file for what ever reason. maybe a site admin should look into it. (IE issue according to below post).
-
odd. it gives me a jar firefox.
try re-downloading it to see if it was a one-off bug.
out of interest, what are the files that are in the download?
-
does it have a .zip at the end rather then a .jar. or is it just opening in an archive program.
if it's the latter then Jarfix may help.
-
I remember doing something similar in a test world. quickly recreated it. in technic (should work in tekkit).
the BC AT dumps the empty buckets in an adjacent chest. if you setup two filters, one to move empty buckets into the deplorer and one to move lava buckets into the chest adjacent to the BC AT, you can run them of the same timer.

Can you post an image of you setup? can't think of anything else that could cause issues.
