is it normal for it to spawn more areas that have smoke on them?

nvm figured out what it was, but how should i fix it?

So, my friends and I were just playing on our Hexxit LAN, then when we go into our basement, we find this huge explosion mark and TONS of endermen. There were also the particles that you would see in the two blocks that used to occupy a rift. I have no freaking idea as to what the hell happened and I really want to know. Also, sometimes it would glitch and it would seem as though I could see another landscape in the explosion crater for just a second.
