I have 4 gigs of installed memory and pull an additional 6 gig off two thumb drives. It's how I learned to survive having the oldest computer on campus in my freshman year of college... I'm open for anything that can bog the laptop, on second thought. I'll be doing windows updates on my new quad core desktop tomorrow, so having something I can't currently run might actually be refreshing (Big Dig is #1 on my list of packs to attempt to run.).

Hello! I'm here on a five year old laptop with no onboard memory and a processor barely capable of making a voice call while I play SSP. Please note that I have 10 Gigs of usable RAM. I'm trying to find a modpack, and have a few mods I'd like, as well as a few I don't want at all. So, the ones I'd love the pack to have: -Mo'Creatures* -the one with all the extra growable food types* -Rei's Minimap* -the one where you chop down one block of a tree and it all comes down -any farming mods -Railcraft would be nice. -Optifine would be awesome. What I really do not want: -Thaumcraft (I hate this pack. Taint is bad.)^ -Kitten Comet (See Yogbox 1.6 below.) *Most important ones ^Unless the Thaumcraft version lacks taint, please do not send me packs with this. I have this obsession with growing a gigantic Minecraft farm, and these are the packs that I prefer for doing so. I'm hoping someone knows of a good one. Packs I know about that fit this: -GabaTron's Farming Pack (After the update, it started to take too much processing power. Laggy as all get out.) -Yogbox 1.6 (I'm posting this because a kitten comet blew up my tomatoes.) If you can find one that would take a little more power, post it and make a note. I'm getting a new computer TOMORROW but I would love to keep MC on my laptop. Note that this PC is incapable of running FTB, and led me to find Technic. I fell in love with Technic's uncomplicated modding procedure, but will be running both on the new one.

Launcher Version: Latest Operating System: Win 7 Java Version: 7, but own 6 as well (Shimeji still requires 6 to run.) Antivirus Program: Avast! Antivirus Description of Problem: The title sucks, and I apologize. When I leave Technic alone to, say, go to the bathroom, I keep finding my RAM being eaten up immensely while the game is standing still. The game is paused, nothing but the launcher and [pick a pack] are running but antivirus. I know it's not my antivirus doing this. I go use the bathroom, and before I go I check my RAM and CPU usage out of habit. I usually note between 40 and 70% CPU usage for most packs, and between 60 and 90% for GabaTron's Farming Pack. My laptop doesn't like GT's FP, but I usually combat this by switching packs to another for half an hour after each hour of play. Standard RAM usage is between 1.40 and 2 GB, or 1.60 and 2.30 BG for GT's FP. I have 4 GB RAM, but because my laptop has no onboard video memory and I run a 64-bit OS, only 2.84 GB of that is usable. Yet, when I come back, I've found the computer consistently running hot-at 2.7+GB of RAM, no matter the pack. The memory usage just keeps going up, and it doesn't stop until the machine crawls to a stop and sometimes until it crashes. This started yesterday. It's when the program is sitting still, and it's java and mc. I've been unable to figure out why... Error Messages: Error Log:

I can't get GabaTron's Farming Pack to show up either, I keep having to reinstall it. I'm on an older computer and this is becoming a serious issue for me--it's eating up my RAM and my pc starts to overheat downloading the packs.
