2012 was 11 years ago. We're probably not even talking about the same launcher. The rest of your post makes no sense. Java 6 is extremely outdated, you need at least Java 8. And if you have any issues logging into the launcher drop by our Discord for some (approximately) real-time help. -

Forge update 1.12.2-14.23.5.2851 changed things. You need the Forge Installer renamed as modpack.jar instead of Universal. Download and rename the Installer, DO NOT run/install/extract the installer. -

You should be able to simply unpack the new one over your current server. Might have to remove any mods that aren't in the new one.

Hi, Make sure you're logging into the correct account. If that doesn't work, then try to launch Minecraft using the vanilla launcher, then log into Technic Launcher again (click Logout button, then Add Microsoft Account).
