-you don't actually need minecraft installed already for the launcher to work. what you need is a legit account.
-the .minecraft folder is not involved in any way with the launcher installing.
-updating your vanilla minecraft (the one in .minecraft) doesn't effect the launcher. the reason there is an issue when MC updates is that the launcher actually goes out and downloads the latest .jar from mojang (this is why you need an account) and if the .jar is updated, it can't backdate it. you were sorta correct on this point but not completely. downgrading vanilla MC won't help at all.

Oh thanks mate. If you've got any tips/general support that'd be amazing. You know as well as I that it can be frustrating starting out.
Yeah, some basic advice would be to post to as many forums as you can find and engage your viewers, asking them to like and subscribe helps you because it will mean more people will see your stuff. Shoot me a PM on YouTube and I'll try to give you some longer winded advice :)

Do have to say this Let's Play has become one of my favorite for technic/tekkit and is slowly becoming my favorite minecraft let's play period. Keep it up!

Definitely been enjoying it too. I like that all of you guys are recording each episode, so we can see the same video from all different perspectives, going from making the awesome marble brick tower of awesomeness to digging for treasure.
Yeah I've had a lot of fun watching nearby's hapless perspective from time to time. Hopefully I'll get a chance to sabotage him soon
Ah yeah I've been enjoying these a lot. I'd like to think Spadger's Hat are your English counterparts.

Can you do a mod primer on the extra mods like the better dungeons mod
and maybe some like somnia?
Episode 2 is actually designed to go over a lot of the small mods, it includes Somnia.
I don't think I'll end up doing Better Dungeons for the next little while since, to my knowledge, it doesn't really add anything tricky to understand - if this isn't true let me know and I'll take a look
The current plan is to do Thaumcraft and Logistic Pipes next - look for the first Thaumcraft vid to come up quite soon (within a week or so) :)

This is pretty good, you got a very understandable voice.
Do you know anything about CompuCraft part of technic? It sounds interesting, and I want to know how to use it.
That's actually one of the mods I know the least about, I plan on doing a primer on it sometime soon though (after learning about it) - ahead of it on the list are at least two mods; Thaumcraft and Logistic Pipes. :)

Hey guys!
I've just fired up a viewer based series - every two weeks, viewers vote on a theme for the next episode and the winner of last episode, while getting to create and submit their entries for the current episode. The first challenge was "Build an Automatic Tree Farm without Forestry," and here's the first episode.
I'd love to hear what you think of this as an idea!
