JDK 7 Doesn't work with 10.6.8 :/

Java SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-462-10M4609) Java HotSpot 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.65-b04-462, mixed mode)

I'm using OSX 10.6.8, and all of the built in modpacks don't work. I can't update java because the JRE i need to download doesn't work on my OS.

Whenever i try to open a modpack, it loads it to the point where the title screen is about to show up, and then takes me back to the launcher and says it quit unexpectedly. I can't update java, so i'm looking for a way to get it to work without recent java updates. My current java version is 13.9.8. Help?
