I had the same problem and was unable to play Minecraft through the original launcher or the Technic Launcher. I decided to investigate myself and solved my problem by opening the Technic Launcher, going to the modpack settings, and selecting "always use latest builds". Before, mine was set on "always use recommended builds". Once I did that, the launcher was able to successfully update the modpack and I can now play again. P.s. I can't change it, but my select build option under the modpack settings is set to "1.4.4c latest". Hope this works for you guys too; let me know if u need a screenshot
