Is there a reason why when I load up the main menu in the corner it says, "Minecraft 1.2.5" I downloaded the patcher today

I've been trying to use the 128x Sphax texture pack, I have all the mods textures updated and it listed in the resource pack list. Though, when selected, tekkit doesn't change. I am using java 64-bit and have sufficient ram.
