  1. I was actually using my external IP so I knew it was accessible from the outside. I'm honestly not sure if that is a valid logic, as my internet know-how only goes so far. -But-, new router came today and the world loads perfectly again. Localhost works great, although I can no longer access my world through my external IP. .. That may be the next issue I raise, although I can't test it if others can join right off the bat. It should be all set up in the new router and firewall, but if it isn't.. I'll figure it out! Thanks for the help once more, it seemed to have been a issue with my router. <3 This can be locked (if you prefer or roll like that!), as it's not a bug any more. I should be able to sort the connection thing out on my own.
  2. Can you.. expand on the first? I've ran the Tekkit server fine last week for just me and a friend, without lagg (for me, she had minor lagg but she lives.. 9 hours away from me in timezone. America if I recall right but it wasn't game-killing for her.) or problems. From your words, I take it that hosting and playing from the same laptop is a dumb thing to do? It's just a 2-person server, hence why I never considered an outside host. And good idea, I'll look into the settings there. I thought the full windows reinstall fixed that, but they may still have to be updated as well. I hadn't looked into that before. Edit; And everything seems up to date. ^^ Guess it's the waiting game for a router that doesn't shut itself down randomly!
  3. Yup, I'm hosting / joining it from the same laptop. And I'll start looking into wireshark. ^^ Thanks so far. Edit; Noticed I got some lag spikes as well when running traceroutes/pings or.. How it's called. Didn't directly see anything for packet loss, but seeing it's going to be replaced in ~2 days I'll simply assume it's that. ^^ Thanks for the help, I'll repost here if the new router fixes it. :)
  4. Thanks for the reply, it at least gave me more insight in what may be causing this. ^^ It's a very recent issue, last week before I had to wipe my PC I had a nice Tekkit world without any problems. Virus caught me, everything broke down including my router going crazy so I'm suspecting even more so that it's at fault now. I tried to get the game back and running last night and encountered all of that. I've tried creating a world several times, always ends up the same as described above. Is there any way I can see what packets are being send/received/dropped due to connectivity loss? Suppose I can do a bandwith test but I'm not sure if that's the right information.
  5. To update the above, the update thing randomly stopped prodding me today so I'm not sure what changed.. But that one is fixed. Still got the java issues, which my friend now also suffers when she tries to join. I also noticed, when I end up in the dark gravel world-ish when everything fails to render, my sound gets stuck and I keep hearing the 'falling' sound of the game even after I log out of my server. I have to quit the launcher entirely to stop that.
  6. Edit; This is more of a "Help, I got Tekkit issues" thread then a "Tekkit has real bugs!" thread. Edit2; Update thing fixed itself. Launcher/pack Version: Tekkit 2.1.1, launcher 1.0.1.2. (Assuming up to date, however, it keeps saying that there is a "New update for Tekkit" but never downloads anything when I hit "Yes." Redownloading the full thing from the site, still gives the same update message leading me to believe that it's just lying to me.) Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit Version of Java: Java 6, update 31 64-bit. Java 7, update 4, 64-bit. Description of Problem: Tekkit Launcher keeps prompting to update but no update is downloaded or available, Upon logging in I either end in a black gravel pit and fall through the world constantly or the world renders for a -tiny- amount (like.. 5 x 5 around me. 10 x 10 at most) with the rest never loading. Singleplayer works fine, including world rendering (with everything being on fancy, with a steady 30 fps). <- Picture of it. Error Messages: None directly, but see below. Link to pastebin of log: Logfile - http://pastebin.com/N8n8SUea (Apparently, everything in it is -severe- but I can't recall noticing that before. I deleted the old logs, rebooted everything and received that though.) )/ Last bit of server console window - http://pastebin.com/fv2mCvE2 Things tried so far; - Graphic card update. - Full delete/reinstall of java 6/7 - Full delete of Tekkit launcher / server files + reinstall. - Ports/router/firewall already configured entirely to allow access. Others can join my server fine and don't suffer the issue, but do lag tremendously. (Though, I'm guessing that's my router) I'm thinking it may also just be a router issue on my end, seeing that one is on the edge of breaking down and is getting replaced by the end of this week.. But figured I'd ask here as well and see if I'm missing something. I've just done a full windows reinstall after a virus broke down my PC (Yay for no backup, lost ~400 gigs of files), so forgive me if I missed an obvious file I normally had on my laptop. Thanks in advance.
