Yep I figured that may be the problem but I don't even think I could (may be wrong.) When I installed Java the only Linux version was the 1.6 one (again may be wrong.) Thanks for the input, anyway, but I was able to get to my friend's house and download from his W7 comp and now it works.

Happy you fixed your problem but FYI Windows installs programs through .exe/.jars. If the .exe won't start then the program was never installed. Misleading title is misleading. You're supposed to paste the copied sound folders in the technicssp's resources folder. I had the same problem with Yogbox and was thinking of making this exact thread, but decided against it. Oh you mind reader. More info for Cheap: I installed it on an XP OS and moved it to my Windows 7 one. I've not yet tried installing from the Windows 7 comp as it has no internet, and looking at it on this one [Linux], it also lacks the sound files; it only has the mod and newsound folders. Speaking of Linux. Cheap Shot, you should add the launcher directory for Linux to your common problems thread. .files are invisible and I didn't know the name to search for. Launcher version: 1.0.1.2 OS #1: Linux Ubuntu 32bit OS #2: Windows 7 64bit Java version #1: 1.6.0_23 Java version #2: 1.7.0_03 So, first off, the folks are too poor for netz and the computer-I-wish-to-play-on's motherboard isn't compatible with wireless cards. The family's is, however. So my method is to download/install stuff to it, and migrate it to mine; it's what I did with my music, Java, Minecraft, and the Yogbox, all of which worked no problem. I was having the problem where it wouldn't download the walking/breaking/hurting/pickingupblocks sounds from resources, but that was an easy fix. I was super disappointed when I found out you had to remove ExtraBiomes, though, and moved to Technic. It won't work. I keep getting the white screen of gay. Common problems says it's sometimes fixable by disabling the LWJGL binaries in the options menu, but when I install it on Linux the option is disabled as well as the binaries. While on my Windows comp I try enabling the binaries through the launcher options for shits and giggles but that, as well as the allocated memory, change back after I close the white screen. I really want to play, but if there's a god, he hates me.
