Tekkit isn't working on my mac either, luckily I have bootcamp. I have two versions of java: Java 7 update 6, tekkit launches but crashes on splash screen. Java 6 (apple release), tekkit launches and I can join servers but the fps is ridiculous 4/5 fps. Considering I get 60+ on the same machine with bootcamp. I'm currently running 10.8.2 as well as 2 GB of ram allocated. 2010 iMac, 4 gb ram.
