1. I have downloaded the Technic Launcher version 3.1.2. I re-checked that I had the latest version of Java 64-bit working. When I run the .exe file it says that the launcher is downloading, gets to 100% and nothing happens. When I run the .jar file with Java web start launcher I get this error message: MissingFieldException[ The following required field is missing from the launch file: <jnlp>] at com.sun.javaws.jnl.XMLFormat.parse(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Should I open the .jar file and place those files somewhere instead?
2. Has anyone been able to find a solution to this problem?
3. I uninstalled Java and re-installed Java 7 update 5 (64-bit). I then downloaded the .exe and .jar files again. When I ran the .exe file it says that the launcher is downloading, gets to 100% and nothing happens. When I ran the .jar file with Java plaform se binary nothing happens. When I opened the .jar file with Java web start launcher I get this error message again: MissingFieldException[ The following required field is missing from the launch file: <jnlp>] at com.sun.javaws.jnl.XMLFormat.parse(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
4. Right sorry, I extracted the zip on a folder in my desktop, I then ran the launch.bat file and it is stuck on Creating Railcraft Save File. If I close the cmd and try to run the java tekkit.jar, with the Web start launcher, this message comes up: Error: could not load javaws10 (the first time I tried), javaws11(the second time I tried). Exception: CouldNotLoadArgumentException[ Could not load file/URL specified: C:\\Users\\NACHOH~1\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\javaws13] at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Wrapped exception: java.io.IOException: File too large at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
5. I guess so, not really sure. I had already added the Java bin directory to my system path variable.
6. Got the files, took the launch.bat out of the folder, renamed the .jar file to technic-launcher-latest, didn't change the amount of memory. I then tried to right click open the new .jar file (with the Java Web Start launcher) and got this error message: CouldNotLoadArgumentException[ Could not load file/URL specified: C:\\Users\\n\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\javaws7] at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) If I try to open it with the Java Platform SE binary (javaw.exe) nothing happens.
7. I have been trying to just right-click and and run with Java. I have tried to find out on google how to do it with a batch file but it doesn't really explain it clear enough for my limited techy skills.
8. Launcher Version: (1.0.1.3) Operating System: Windows 7 - 64 bit Java Version: 7-64bit Antivirus Program: Trend Micro Titanium Description of Problem: When using the .exe, the loader only creates the .techniclauncher folder with the .jar files but nothing else happens. When using the .jar download I get the following error message from java: MissingFieldException[ The following required field is missing from the launch file: <jnlp>] at com.sun.javaws.jnl.XMLFormat.parse(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Having looked at other similar posts, I have tried to uninstall java (from Control Panel/Install/Uninstall programs etc) and re-install it with no luck.
