Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3 Operating System: Windows 7 Java Version: 7 64-bit Antivirus Program: Avast! Description of Problem: I have had some troubles with all minecraft launchers being able to connect to minectaft.net, but i managed to get those working though the use of a batch file, but that solution does not work for tekkit. When I launch it, it looks like this: and I cannot to connect to anything. Trying to log in either gets me "update failed" or "Unable to authenticate account with minecraft.net" Also, whenever An alert box appears (such as "Unable to authenticate account with minecraft.net") the words are left behind on the grey part even when the box goes away. I have not been able to get it to even start downloading. When I try to log in, it gives me a pop-up that says "Unable to connect to Minecraft.net. Would you like to run in offline mode?" Then regardless of what I select, I get another pop-up saying "update failed!" I have tried: disabling anti-virus Reinstalling java allowing technik updater though windows firewall. disabling windows firewall restarting computer deleting .techniclancher A plethora of combinations of the above. Vanilla minecraft also is unable to connect. And I have been experiencing these issues for about 5 days now. (so before the server craft thing)

You're going to have to use the "allow another program" option; go to where ever you saved the technic launcher and select that.

Is this all super-recent? I have been having trouble for about 3(4?) days now.

I would also like to see a solution to this problem. [EDIT: for ME] neither tekkit launcher or the regular minecfaft launcher (or magic launcher) is able to connect.

Victory! I made it to the launcher screen. Many thanks to your good sirs. Now I just have to figure out why neither minecraft or tekkit can's connect to minecraft.net. But that is a problem for a different thread.

Whelp, Running the batch file now launches the game, although it still stays at the splash screen. :'(

I did find that if you go to you task manager (Ctrl+SHift+Esc) and in the processes page, you end the processes labeled java, that will get rid of the splash page without a restart. :/

I'm not sure that I'm doing it right, but this does not work for me. When I try to run the batch file, one of those black text boxes pops up for a second and then goes away and nothing happens. Am I just doing it wrong?

How do I go about implementing this fix? Do I copy paste the text into notepad as is and save it somewhere specific?
