I just setup Tekkit on Mac OS X v10.8. The biggest hurdle you may face is having a suitable version of Java. Barring that, I found these useful: Watch this a few times. The kid is a little hard follow, but his steps are sound. Watch for the mods he deletes. I had to do the same thing. Hopefully, it will help you like it helped me.
