Thanks for the reply. My friends are using my external ip address with the port, I am trying to use localhost to connect, the server is on my computer.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section :/ I have had a private tekkit server for a few friends for a few months and it has worked fine. Lately, i have been unable to connect to my server while my friends can connect fine, getting the error "connection refused: connect". So far, i have only seen help for people who can connect to their server but their friends can't. I have port forwarded, i have tried turning my firewall off, i have updated java to the latest version and i am using the same tekkit client as my friends. I can also connect to dedicated public servers without any problems.
