ok, i thought light sensors only picked up like torches etc. and would i have to send it far away since if its too close the light sensor will pick up the lamp itself?

me and my friends are creating a gigantic factory and they wanted me to build them the redstone stuff so i wanted to have a green lamp or luminator light up during the day signifying that its work time then turn off when the day is done any way to do that?
