Yea i just got lucky actually from the desert biome actually, i found it on the side of a sand hill, prolly 20 blocks high so i'm gonna play with it now. I tend to try and stay away from the ocean biomes because i've had issues where i pull the oil and end up pulling water instead. But thanks for the tip!

I was hoping to get it runnin on SP, don't know much about servers or server running, even on a local machine. I've read some posts that world seeds sharing doesn't really work cause the oil randomly spawns in different areas. Bugger. But i'll try the server thing you mentioned. Any tips?

Hey guys, so i've tried creating random worlds where i'm able to find loads of oil, but i've had no real success. Does anyone know if A) it's possible to generate it via MCEdit or know of a world seed that i could use to create a world rich with oil? I want to bathe in the rich dark liquid from the deep to fuel some awesome creations! Thanks!

Well i didn't want to have to start all over, but oh well, that's minecraft...take what you've learned and make something new. Thanks for the help regardless! But i'm curious as to know why adding another waterproof teleporter for oil made my map crash. I don't know where to find the error log, but meh...oh well

I've made some additions to my single player map and just recently added a 2nd teleporter for oil. once i did that i crashed while flying using the jet pack. After multiple attempts to log back in, i can log in, but once in game the game crashes and says "saving chunks" then white screen. Any idea how to fix this? I read somewhere that having a mess of piping and other stuff can sometimes crash your map, but i don't think i'm in that group... Thanks guys EDIT: I'm running everything currently up to date. Haven't modded anything that doesn't already come with the Technic launcher. I've got the latest version of Java, and i've set the memory to 4GB(i've got 8 on my machine) The only thing i have is the Sphanx texture pack.

I finally figured it out...i was just putting the waterproof pipes on the pumps and tanks, they obviously weren't pulling anything out, so i put a wooden transport pipe on first, then connected the transport pipes on and viola! I'm now working on getting power to the refinery to make the fuel. I'm still curious about what you had to say Mecha. I'm setting up solar panels and mfsu's, but i'd like to learn how to use the nuclear reactor!

Sorry Wendo, yea the issue i'm having is that i can teleport the oil and water to the tanks down in my quarry. My quarry is just below my water source(ocean) and the oil is on a nearby desert location. What i'm trying to do is bring the oil and water to the refinery to replace the steam engines i've currently got in place. I've got the waterproof pipes in place at both the oil and water remote locations, the remote engines are running, but i'm not getting anything down in the quarry. @MechaCrash, I would try that, i just don't know how to set it up. I tried playing with a nuclear reactor, but blew up my home base and made a huge crater lol...I'm not worried about crafting the items, i'm having more fun just using the built in item list.

Ello, so i've tried to watch as many vids as i can to learn more, but i'm strugglin with the teleporter to get my oil and water to my refinery. I'm not runnin anyfin electric, just steam engines for my main quarry, but i'd like to convrt the steam engine to combustion. The oil is quite a bit far off, but i thought i could tele it in and then tele the water in to create the fuel/cool the combustion engine. Sorry if i'm a miss, just tryin to learn the tele ports. Any useful help is much obliged, trolls not need reply.
