I am using localhost, and i tried what you said and I cannot connect, maybe it is something with the external ip.

At first, I used 25565 as the port, then i fowarded 25566 and used that for the server, still didn't work, then I came on here and started this thread. So, the local ip and the suggestion TheSavage1 made, I have already tried

It is the right IP, I use the same IP for my bukkit server and it works just fine, its just when i use it for tekkit it doesn't work.

I am trying to set up a private tekkit server for me and my friend to play on, but for some odd reason the server doesn't show up as "on" for my friend. I port forwarded and even made a separate port just for the tekkit server. What ever I try to do to fix it, it never works. Someone help! NOTE: I am running a 1gb RAM tekkit server because my computer can't handle much more, I don't know if that is the problem or not.
