No change what so ever with the smart firewall turned off, mods are still missing

I've got Norton antivirus, should I disable the smart firewall or something? I'll try that and reinstall and get back to you

Same issue occurs none of the mods seem to be loading at all. When I go to the mods tab of the main menu it shows no child mods for Forge or modloader with a lack of metadata for optifine, chickenloader and NEI. Frankly I'm amazed the launcher can get me all the way to the menu without any errors despite not fining ANY of these mods.
