It's not a 'bug', your NEI plugins either need to be updated, or you actually need to go search for them & install them. Example; I just noticed this evening that Thaumcraft was showing me almost none of the actual recipes for the mod, so I searched for "mod name" NEI plugin & found what I needed. I've also found the you'll most likely need to locate older versions of the NEI plugins as The Technic launcher is still on MC1.2.5. They're not at all hard to find.
On a side note, I still have some recipes that are not showing in NEI & attempted to update to newer versions of the plugins & MC bombed out on me, when I replaced the known working plugins (which I know work through testing) everything is peachy.
