Informative tutorial requested!

Ever since hexxit was released I have been hearing good talk about it but I have never gotten around to playing it. I have now made a new world and don't know where to start. If you know of a useful tutorial or guide for beginner players i t would be most appreciated if you could link it to this post.  Or if you are experienced you may type a text tutorial or make some recommendations. Thanks
