Server Disconnect w/items

I just recently got my server up and running with tekkit, however none of the actual tekkit items can be created, and when I go into creative mode and try to put an item into my inventory to place, I instantly get disconnected from the server. Really not sure what's going on, if anyone has an idea or knows what to do I would greatly appreciate it.
