Blank modpack selection & failed update.

Launcher/pack Version: 1.0.1.3

Operating System: Win7 32bit

Version of Java: 1.7.0_05 (1.7u5)

Description of Problem: Upon opening the Technic Launcher, the modpack selection window is blank, and the right hand info pane mentions the Tumblr is down. Upon selecting a modpack (blindly!), and attempting to launch, the error "Update Failed!" appears when it checks for a minecraft update.

Vanilla Minecraft (launched through Technic Launcher) works fine, every non-vanilla modpack produces the failed update error.

Antivirus program: MSE

Error Messages: "Update Failed!"

Attempted fixes: Complete removal and reinstallation of Technic Launcher, both .exe and .jar versions. Also complete removal and reinstall of Java, with latest updates.

Have checked the "Common Problems and Solutions" thread, nothing in there worked for me.

Remove your .minecraft folder, backing up anything you'd like to save. Common solution to this problem in the future: delete your lastlogin file - that will allow Minecraft to re-authenticate the login, and hopefully to self-correct. The minecraft.net authentication servers have been serving poorly of late.
