Black/White Screen While Joining Server

Title: Black/White Screen While Joining Server

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

Java Version: 7

Description of Problem:

When I go to join my friend's server, it begins the usual process of logging in. However, afterwards, it stutters, and then the screen blacks out. After a couple of seconds, the window goes white, unable to access the server.

This is not a fix that works for everyone, or if it is, you're advocating killing player inventories arbitrarily. Some white screens are caused by other things, so I suggest you stop spamming this on every thread that mentions a white screen.

The first time it happened, the owner of the server did do the mentioned method. Granted, that was when I had nothing in my inventory. It works, but I had gotten a lot done since then. Thanks for the suggestion though; actually still looking for a fix since it happened again. xD

Is there a server log that shows what happens from that end? As it's your friend's server, you might be able to get it, and that might say something.

Logging in from another computer & moving fixed it for me. (Caused the other computer to get the error instead)
