Is he trying to join with the Hamachi IP of the server, or something else?  That's kind of a necessity.  If that doesn't work, there could be a firewall stopping the Hamachi connection (though that's rare, and usually server-side).

He is using the hamachi IP to join.

Okay, that knocks out wrong IP.  So, we need symptoms.  Does the server show up and joining result in an error, does the server not show up at all...?  I run a server and use Hamachi to let 2-6 other people join (so yes, they're on more than one network, and it functions fine).  Did you define the IP in the server config file, or leave it blank?

You really need to be more specific about what's going on.  I can't see your screen or read your mind.  The following things should be happening:

1) The Hamachi GUI should be present on both computers (and the server, if it's a separate box).

2) There should be a network present, which all parties have joined.

3) You should be able to pass chat messages back and forth from all computers involved, just to verify that the network exists.

4) All players should be using the Hamachi IPv4 address of the server to attempt to join.  The port number is probably unnecessary, but you can add that anyway: ":25565" (no quotes) at the end of the IP.

Then you can start diagnosing the problem if all of the above are true.
