Cannot connect to my sever after installing Tekkit

Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit

Java Version: Java 7

Antivirus Program: I rent a sever from Servercraft.co, and have been running vanilla minecraft on it for some time. Recently i decided to install the Technic Pack mod, and installed it by importing the files from Tekkit_Server_3.0.4 (except the launcher) into my server's folder. At first i had Bukkit enabled, but then disabled it after hearing some people say that it was not necessary.

The problem I now face is that I cannot log onto the server. I have the 1.0.1.3 Technic Launcher and whenever I try and log in i get either the "Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset," or the " End of Stream" error message.

Did i install the mod wrong? I want to keep the world that I have on the sever now without losing what everyone has built.

Are you actually using the Tekkit mod pack? If you are, what version are you using? If you updated to 3.1.0 (check with the Options button in the launcher window), that's a dev build and won't let you log in on any server.
