Title: Can't join friend's server

Version: 3.0.3/3.0.4

OS: Window 7 Home Premium x64

Java Version: jre6

Description of Problem:

When i tried to join me friend's server, this constantly pops up:

Internal exception: java.lang.NullPointException

(note this did not crash my MC, but i cant get on the server)

on my friend's side:

sending serverside check to: wfi974

and then:

wfi974 lost connection: disconnect.endOfStream

Unfortunately, this is Minecraft, not Tekkit. Install Java 7, and it will most likely help, but until MC 1.3 comes out and the mods update, you may be out of luck.

Acceptable, though the entire log may say more. Also odd - I've never seen such a short NullPointerException. Did you remove Java 6 after you installed 7? I'd try deleting your .minecraft and .techniclauncher folders, getting a new copy of the launcher itself, and reinstalling. Make sure to back up your worlds/waypoints/config files if you wish.

Then there's you problem. The launcher is probably still finding Java 6. Either remove it, or redirect the launcher (removing Java 6 is easier).

32 bit or 64 bit.

You have another, older version of Java 6 installed then. It allows you to install as many different versions as you want. Uninstall it.
