Question

Launcher Version: (1.0.1.3)

Operating System: Windows 7 - 64 bit

Java Version: 7-64bit

Antivirus Program: Trend Micro Titanium

Description of Problem:

When using the .exe, the loader only creates the .techniclauncher folder with the .jar files but nothing else happens.

When using the .jar download I get the following error message from java:

at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source)

at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

Having looked at other similar posts, I have tried to uninstall java (from Control Panel/Install/Uninstall programs etc) and re-install it with no luck.

I have been trying to just right-click and and run with Java. I have tried to find out on google how to do it with a batch file but it doesn't really explain it clear enough for my limited techy skills.

Got the files, took the launch.bat out of the folder, renamed the .jar file to technic-launcher-latest, didn't change the amount of memory.

I then tried to right click open the new .jar file (with the Java Web Start launcher) and got this error message:

CouldNotLoadArgumentException[ Could not load file/URL specified: C:\\Users\\n\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\javaws7]

at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source)

at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source)

at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

If I try to open it with the Java Platform SE binary (javaw.exe) nothing happens.

Right sorry, I extracted the zip on a folder in my desktop, I then ran the launch.bat file and it is stuck on Creating Railcraft Save File.

If I close the cmd and try to run the java tekkit.jar, with the Web start launcher, this message comes up:

Error: could not load javaws10 (the first time I tried), javaws11(the second time I tried).

Exception:

CouldNotLoadArgumentException[ Could not load file/URL specified: C:\\Users\\NACHOH~1\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\javaws13]

I uninstalled Java and re-installed Java 7 update 5 (64-bit). I then downloaded the .exe and .jar files again.

When I ran the .exe file it says that the launcher is downloading, gets to 100% and nothing happens.

When I ran the .jar file with Java plaform se binary nothing happens.

When I opened the .jar file with Java web start launcher I get this error message again:

MissingFieldException[ The following required field is missing from the launch file: <jnlp>]

at com.sun.javaws.jnl.XMLFormat.parse(Unknown Source)

I have downloaded the Technic Launcher version 3.1.2.

I re-checked that I had the latest version of Java 64-bit working.

When I run the .exe file it says that the launcher is downloading, gets to 100% and nothing happens.

When I run the .jar file with Java web start launcher I get this error message:

MissingFieldException[ The following required field is missing from the launch file: <jnlp>]

at com.sun.javaws.jnl.XMLFormat.parse(Unknown Source)

at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source)

at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source)

at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source)

at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source)

at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

Should I open the .jar file and place those files somewhere instead?
