Launcher crashes after Mojang screen..

Question

Posted

Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3 (Technic SSP)

Operating System: Windows 7, i think it's 32-bit (MC render distance warning pops up when i try Far)

Java Version: (From the 'About' box) Version 7 Update 4 (build 1.7.0_04-b22)

Antivirus Program: When i first downloaded the launcher, it kept saying 'can't find java directory'. So, i went straight to .techniclauncher and the launcher seemed to work fine from there. Then it kept saying 'update failed', SO i went into Norton and fiddled with firewall so it would allow 'Technic Launcher Updater'. THEN i tried updating, it went to the Mojang screen, before blacking out with the error message below. While it said it was updating by the way, i noticed that a lot of the mods failed to download (e.g. betterdungeons).

I'd kill Norton - it's probably playing havoc with your downloads. I don't mean disable it, either. There are other, better, free AVs you could use. Then I'd try a wipe and reinstall - you're getting a block ID error when you shouldn't be.

Um.... I deleted everything and reinstalled; now the first launcher froze at '100% minecraft jar' and wouldn't close; the second froze at the same point, but this time it said 'oh noes! the tumbr feed is down'. Both are now uncloseable :/ halp

Yeah...I think the minecraft.net servers are down, which is preventing everyone from doing anything. Go into Task Manager and kill Java, try rebooting and reloading the launcher, and if that doesn't work you might just have to wait. The verification servers are typically down for less than 24 hours.
