nvr mnd this i did this part wrong but even when it is right it still wont work

Make sure to create an rtemp file, and make sure you give it time to download everything(check the log to see if it froze or not)

I fixed it, credit to http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/stuck-on-technic-launcher-splash.8948/, and a friend for walking myself through, Created a batch file with the following:

mkdir %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\temp

"C:\program files\java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Xmx1G -jar %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar

(Downloaded a server from tekkit and used that .bat file)

Im quite new to downloading mods and stuff do you know any vids that show you how to do it?

Im quite new to downloading mods and stuff do you know any vids that show you how to do it?

1.Download Technic Launcher and run it, if it is freezing like in this thread, continue with these steps:

2.Download Tekkit Server

3.Find the Launch.bat in the Tekkit server

4.Edit it and replace what was there before with: mkdir %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\temp

"C:\program files\java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Xmx1G -jar %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar

5.For simplicity's sake, put the launch.bat in your .techniclauncher folder

6.Create an rtemp file in your .techniclauncher folder

7.Run the Launch.bat and you should get the launcher eventually.

(8.)If it is taking a while check the launcher_0.log(in the logs file) and see if it is downloading, or if there is an error.

(9.)If this doesn't work, try turning off Your firewall/antivirus

Also, you will inevitably hit a "can't connect to minecraft.net", all you have to do for that is delete your lastlogin file.

Thank you so much ive been trying so many different solutions and in the end this fixed the problem,

also like plushpillow i hadn't allowed technic launcher updater through my firewall.

anyway problem solved =)

Ok, I got it to work by fixing the firewall problem, but then I was trying to build a big flying quarrying machine and my game crashed, and suddenly, the problem is back again. I have tried the firewall again multiple times but to no avail. help! the reason I have not tried the launch.bat thing is because I really don't know how to work computers except for the basics. I really don't understand what you mean by replacing launch.bat (do you replace the contents of the file or the name or what?)

Ok figured some more out and I think it is the launch.SH file I need to edit but I would like confirmation from someone that this is what I'm supposed to do. Also, am I supposed to put the lauch.bat and launch.sh in the rtemp folder or leave it empty or what?

ive tried all of the above with no success :( just keeps freezing, when i use launcher it goes to 100% then closes. disables AV/Firewall, allowed launcher in settings changed launch.bat nope nothing

Sorry to bug but this didn't help me at all. I found the .techniclauncher folder and I created the rtemp folder and ran the bat file yet nothing. It's funny because it works on my sh*tty laptop and yet I they both have the exact same Java

im not going to uninstall Norton i want to play this mod pack but needed to uninstall an AV for it is stupid. tried allowing Java with still no progress. where do i find the logs when i run the batch file? all i get is a flash of CMD and then nothing.

Try allowing the launcher in Norton. Also, edit the batch file to add "pause" (no quotes) as a second line. That'll let you see what the error message is.

i get

A subdirectory or file C:\Users\Packard already exists

Error occured while processing C:\Users\Packard

then when the bell folder is created it tells me that it cant process that

Okay, let's see the contents of your batch file. That looks like a partial directory error, so you probably need to add quotes somewhere.

mkdir %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\temp

pause

"C:\program files\java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Xmx1G -jar %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar

You shouldn't need the mkdir line. I'm guessing it finds one that's already there, and breaks. Move the pause line to the end. You also shouldn't need the Java path if you have it in your system path variable, but that probably won't affect the batch file running.
