Technic banner freezes

Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3

Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit operating system

Java Version: Java update 2 64 bit & Java update 4

Antivirus Program: Mcafee

Description of Problem:

In running Techic Launcher the banner freezes on my screen and Iam unable to play the game.

Error Messages:

None

Add Java to your system path variable. Or add the Java path back into your batch file. That's why I said you wouldn't need it if you had it in your path variable already.

programming isnt my strong point in IT. ive got this in my bat file...

"C:\program files\java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Xmx1G -jar %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar

where it says add a 'rtemp file' does it mean a folder? if not what file type?

My Banner is frozen and I have allowed it through my firewall and I am just going to use this mod for single player not online play. Please help

Yup. Thought so. Replace the:

%APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar

in your batch file with

"c:\Users\Packard Bell\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar"

Keep the quotes.

that opened up the launcher..but it froze like usual dont look like its going to work on this PC. Ive turned everything off on Norton but it still dont like it. hopefully there might be an update in the future that might make it be nice with AV.

I made a suggestion to allow the launcher in Norton - did you look into that? Turning everything off will not necessarily mean the software will allow your internet connection to do some things. You need to add an exception or do something active with Norton, or uninstall it entirely.

I made a suggestion to allow the launcher in Norton - did you look into that? Turning everything off will not necessarily mean the software will allow your internet connection to do some things. You need to add an exception or do something active with Norton, or uninstall it entirely.

yer i allowed it both the launcher..5 times and the jar file once. Once it is installed will it play nicely with Norton? or will it continue to play up unless i have a different AV. My Norton expires in a month and i get a good deal if i update it but if i install the mod in between installing the new AV will it work once i install the new AV? Minecraft 1.3 will be out so i wont need to update that soon after.

What about McAfee? are there many reported problems with that?...never mind looked at reviews and removal is poor

now minecraft is completely broken. I tried everything from scratch so i deleted .minecraft, java, techniclauncher from my pc. Downloaded Java and minecraft and now when i log in to minecraft it says

'Fatal Error Occurred (4): Permission denied: connect'

1.Download Technic Launcher and run it, if it is freezing like in this thread, continue with these steps:
2.Download Tekkit Server

3.Find the Launch.bat in the Tekkit server

4.Edit it and replace what was there before with: mkdir %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\temp

"C:\program files\java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Xmx1G -jar %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar

5.For simplicity's sake, put the launch.bat in your .techniclauncher folder

6.Create an rtemp file in your .techniclauncher folder

7.Run the Launch.bat and you should get the launcher eventually.

(8.)If it is taking a while check the launcher_0.log(in the logs file) and see if it is downloading, or if there is an error.

(9.)If this doesn't work, try turning off Your firewall/antivirus

Also, you will inevitably hit a "can't connect to minecraft.net", all you have to do for that is delete your lastlogin file.

Well I fixed it for myself I feel very stupid about it.... But all i had had to do was allow the technic launcher updater through my windows firewall

If you have already done this than hopefully Grand could help you but if you haven't

1.Open up control panel

2.Select System and Security

3.Allow a program through windows firewall

4.Click change settings and you should be able to browse and select a program

By the way this is for windows 7 if you have any other versions of somesort hopefully there shall be similar instuctions

It finally launched the launcher rather then freezing on the logo!!! And now the normal launcher work too! Thank you!!! :D

dont believe this...just downloaded the Launcher on my dads sh*t laptop and it worked first time! dont have minecraft installed on there because it lags like a b**ch. only difference really is that has Norton 2011 and i got Norton 2012 free upgrade so i will try to roleback to 2011

tried it without any AV and still didnt work..doesnt even freeze on banner just get a black command box flash and then nothing
