Out of memory crash

Antivirus Program: After a few minutes my game starts lagging and then crash saying it ran out o f memory. I started to notice that my task manager shows javas memory incresing until around 1.300 then the game crashes.

Description of Problem:

After a few minutes my game starts lagging and then crash saying it ran out o f memory. I started to notice that my task manager shows javas memory incresing until around 1.300 then the game crashes.

Minecraft runs out of memory and has to shut down.

Your computer is actually allocating too much RAM, and put simply, the launcher thinks it has more than enough mem, and spits most of it out. Then, your computer allocates that RAM to other stuff, and then technic realizes it needs more RAM, but the allocated RAM is gone, and it quits on you. To fix it, in the launcher options, set memory allocated to 512 mb, or something around there if I'm correct.

Thx a lot THEBaconator. It seems that is not crashing anymore. But as soon as I reach the 1300 memory limit the game starts lagin as hell.

Im running on a i7 notebook. 6gb ram and video card with 2gb dedicated.

What else could I do to improve performance?
