NEI (not install or spawning)

Antivirus Program: when NEI's 1st page is the current, all buttons (creative/survive, rain, magnet, etc) are missing. also, when on the 1st page of NEI, when I pick up an item (any item) from my inv, the item vanishes, until I place it back in a inv spot. also on the 1st page no item has a name (in NEI or inv) when I switch to another page, all is well again. I have tried re-installing Technic and no joy.
