Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64-bit

Java Version: Java 7 update 4 (build 1.7.0_04-b22)

Antivirus Program: When I start the Technic Launcher, the updater sometimes "stops working" as Windows puts it, and whether this happens or not, when I get to the Launcher itself it says "Can't connect to Minecraft.net" and the only modpack available is the last one used before it broke (Tekkit). When it does connect to Minecraft.net it doesn't use the skin that I uploaded on Minecraft.net.

Now, with a LOT of a**ing around, it can be fixed, assuming that it's not just something up at Mojang's servers, but the "solution" is far from ideal, so I'm looking for a more permanent fix.

Lastly, I've been seeing a lot of comments lately stating "everyone's been getting connection problems recently", so, at risk of sound like an ass I'm only going to say it once: if that's ALL you can tell me, please refrain from saying it here, I KNOW and all telling me that does is gives me a potential cause, but with no solution, and I'm getting frustrated as it is.

Same here, even my friends are having this problem trying to connect to the same server as I.

And no its not the server, it works without problems

I have been having similar problems for about two weeks. When I click on the technic-launcher.jar it will sometimes fail to start: the logo appears for a second, then disappears, and nothing further happens. If I double-click again, the program will start normally. Now, however, when the launcher window appears, there is only an announcement that the system could not connect with Minecraft.net.

And when I click on the "offline mode" button in the lower right of the launcher window, it opens a normal Minecraft window as usual, but I cannot connect to the server.

Not sure on the other issues, I know that when it keeps saying 'can't connect to minecraft.net' you can fix that by deleting your lastlogin file.

Yeah, I have this problem most of the times I start up the launcher, but when I actually get it running and open a world, my skin is the default skin.

80%+ of users from my server all have this issue, including me

Looks like the multiplayer login server is down. I tried a normal Minecraft server and client and this got the same error...

Confirmed by Notch on his Twitter - problem lies with Minecraft, not Technic

Twitter tells me login servers are down, but also that the web guys are already looking into it, so I guess my job here is done? Hm.

When did this problem start for everyone, because it started today for me. Before today, everything was fine, and now I'm afraid to close Tekkit, for fear of getting skinned.

To answer your question, yes. I personally have encountered this error a couple of times, but up until now they weren'tvery frequent.

I had encountered it infrequently before yesterday, more and more often. Yesterday it was completely unusable, and now today it's fine. My issue, at the very least, seems to be tied to the health of the Minecraft servers.
