Cannot connect to LAN Server

Description of Problem:

I try to login to my local server with the address as:

localhost:25565

And I get the following error after a few seconds

Edit: I have a fresh install of both the client and server

I have the same issue. Suddenly popped up on two clients, so its probably serversided.

Yep, exact error I have too. Fresh install of server\client.

Yeah mine is a fresh install too. I see other people are able to play so I wonder if the issue is with the 3.0.4 update.

I got this today to, I was playing fine yesterday so it is the tekkit team's fault...

yeah i just got this today, i could play for the last week or so, My friend got on earlier today but then when i went to get on i couldnt, then he disconnected and then we both couldnt get in.

Verified that if I change the server to offline mode, I can connect as Player. There is some issue with the Minecraft.net authentication servers.
