Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

Java Version: 1.7.0_05

Antivirus Program: I set up a server on one of my computers in order to play over LAN. When I try to connect from another computer, server kicks me out with the "The server requires you to have Minecraft Forge installed" message. I tried every reasonable combination: Server 3.0.4 with Tekkit 3.0.3, 3.0.5, 3.1.0. Server 3.0.3 with Tekkit 3.0.3, 3.0.5, 3.1.0. As noted I am running Java 7u5 on a 32-bit system, running the launcher from the JAR file. I read several posts regarding the problem and no solution offered (if any) solved the issue.

Calling for help.

Note: I tried running SP with Tekkit, looks exactly like Vanilla. Should be like that?

*Sigh*. Got it working somehow. Here's what I did:

Re-launched the game, it fully updated. Ran it, modloader error'd on WirelessRedPower. Removed offending mod. Tried to connect. Got bad login. Deactivated online-mode in server. Server returned a message saying I'm missing several redpower mods. Removed them from server (will also remove MAtmos, that thing's bloody annoying!!). Server said that I'm missing a specific version of NetherOres. Tried looking. Failed. Removed from server. Works. For now (dum dum duuum!).

So I guess it all culminates with the updater working like an old bus going uphill on a hot sunday afternoon (spoiler: It isn't). I believe I can only plead for an OFFLINE installer to come out with all the modpacks bundled and with nothing missing, then it would work as it should. Overall it's a great modpack with wonderful innovations and features that will keep anyone glued to the keyboard and mouse for hours on end. Shame it has to drag you kicking and screaming through all hell just to set it up straight.

Here is what i did 1 STEP, in the technic launcher screen, wheer there is a login button, there is an options button. Click that, and a box will pop up. In the box his the button that says Reset/clear cache files. then it will redownload all the tekkit files, then your ready to play.
