I can normally play Minecraft on about 60 - 90 fps with "50% 512mb" on my f3 screen. But when I play tekkit my fps goes down to about 5-10. I've tried allocating 4gb which gave me something like "43% 800mb" then 8gb gave me "24% 950mb" and even with 16gb, that gave me less "18% 800 gb"
The question is, is there a way to allocate memory besides the launcher? I know you can do this with normal Minecraft launcher with the .dat method, but I can't make it work for techniclauncer.exe or techinic-launcher.jar inside %appdata%. Using the launcher gives a % of what I want to allocate and I think that my laptop should be able to run tekkit on at least 40-50 fps.
This problem really bugs me. Tekkit is unplayable with the fps I get and allocating more memory using the launcher only gives me about 300-400mb and 5 fps more. Im sure if I allocate a full 2-3 gb from the 8, it will run smoothly.
