Antivirus Program: I've had multiple issues with technic pack. My main two issues, though, are severe lag and crashes. I normally run vanilla Minecraft at an average of 60 FPS, and the technic pack brought me down to 5-10 FPS. Not only that, but after about 10-30 minutes of gametime, it'd just freeze without warning, and not respond until I ended the process through Task Manager. So, I've tried multiple ways of trying to fix it.
At first, I had Java 6, so I changed the runtime parameters to allocate more memory (768m). However, I saw no change in FPS or crashes. I reinstalled the technic pack launcher, but saw no changes still. I opened the "mod select" button on the technic pack launcher, and about half of the mods off. This allowed me to boost up to 20 FPS, but it didn't last long and I'd still crash. I updated my Java to Java 7 update 5, and uninstalled Java 6. This allowed my Minecraft to maintain an average FPS of 25. However, I would still keep crashing. Whenever I crashed, it'd roll back my block data to about ten minutes before the crash. This has been very frustrating, since it has happened more than ten times in the last two days.
There is only one last method that I can think of to fix this, and it's manually removing the Optifine files from the .jar, since I've had issues with Optifine before. However, it never caused severe crashes for me when I did briefly use it. I've looked through Google, the technic forums, the Minecraft forums, and the Spout forums to try to find a problem similar to mine, but haven't found one that quite matches... So, does Optifine cause these issues, or is there something else I'm missing?
