MCForge and Tekkit

I installed Tekkit and have the server running, but when I attempt to join it tells me I need to have Minecraft Forge. I find this strange because I do have it installed.

Help?

Edit: Reinstalled Tekkit. Still nothing.

I had a friend who tried to join my new Tekkit server today and they also got the same error.

They use a Mac by the way.

So obviously this is independent of platform since I am running Windows 7.

Have you tried backing up your Minecraft files and removing everything so you just have vanilla and Technic? I'm wondering if having Forge is causing the error rather than not having it.

I found the error.

In the drop down list on the launcher, what you probably have selected is Technic.

Scroll down and select Tekkit instead.

It worked for me.
