Out Of Mermory

Description of Problem:

My friend tried to log in to my server. But when plays for awhile his screens says "Out of Mermory" I tried asking the poeple i bought the server from (Kerplunc Gaming) but the had no clue. So they said to try the tekkit Forums.

The "Memory" You are referring to is RAM (Random Access Memory). You could have an amazing computer, but having small amounts of RAM will hurt your performance. What happened in your friend's problem is simply a Minecraft overload. To fix this, he will need to turn some of his normal memory into RAM.

I have a big processor, and 1.68 GB of RAM allotted to Tekkit, you will need at least that much to run without too much trouble.

The easiest way to fix this is first to see how much RAM Tekkit is being allowed.

1. Pull up the launcher

2. Under "Settings" or "Options" (One of the two), it will have a menu talking about builds and such.

3. Near the bottom, it says allocated RAM. Click it, and it will open a pull down menu. Allocate the maximum RAM possible for best performance.

If that doesn't work. You need even more RAM. So follow down below.

Since you are on windows 7, this is how you do it.

1. Go to "Control Panel" in the start menu

2. Search for "RAM"

3. The first thing to show up should be under "System". It will say "Show how much RAM is on this computer. Click it.

4. Click "Change Setting" under "Computer name, domain...."

5. This will pull up your "System Properties", go to the "Advanced" tab.

6. Go to Settings under "Performance"

7. Go to "Advanced" here now

8. Under "Virtual Memory" is your RAM. My computer, running all its programs, needs around 10k MB of RAM. To change yours, and to up it, go to Change. And allocate more under C: [OS]

9. Restart your Computer.

You now have more RAM on your computer. Go ahead and repeat the original three-step-fix now.

That should fix your problem.
