crash after starting minecraft

Description of Problem:

i am trying to play technic singleplayer, with a unusual version, 7.0.1. this is because the newest doesnt have EE. the newest version, 7.1 and the reccomended version both work for me, but when i try and play one of the versions between the two, my client crashes just after loading the gui and world. it also crashes if i try to change texture pack. it says saving chunks then completely whitescreens and becomes unresponsive. any help please?

Something is wrong with rope.png,try to download new one?

that specific error says rope.png but there are maybe hundreds that all say different files. ive tried reinstalling java, launcher and minecraft.
