Spadeking0 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I might seem a little dumb right now, but all the instructions and guides I've seen on these forums don't help me, because they all concern downloading the server. I have my server folder, and everything is "configured" for lack of a better term. The problem I have is joining my server, I seem to get a reoccurring problem while my server is turned on in Terminal (I'm running Mac OS X Snow Leopord). When I attempt to join my server for the first time using "localhost" as the ip address (because I haven't figured out how to let my friends join, which could be another answer if you can), I get this message: 19:50:28 [iNFO] /127.0.0.1:64577 lost connection 19:50:39 [sEVERE] java.io.IOException: Received string length longer than maximum allowed (135 > 16) 19:50:39 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.Packet.a(Packet.java:120) 19:50:39 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.Packet1Login.a(Packet1Login.java:38) 19:50:39 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.Packet.a(Packet.java:79) 19:50:39 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.NetworkManager.h(NetworkManager.java:152) 19:50:39 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.NetworkManager.c(NetworkManager.java:270) 19:50:39 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.NetworkReaderThread.run(SourceFile:76) Every time I try to join it gives me that message in Terminal, while on Tekkit it displays this: Connection Lost End of Stream (The usual message if a server isn't up) I did follow the directions in the instructions to get rid of the Advanced Machines.zip file (I believe that is what it is about). I'd really appreciate if you would take the time to explain step by step how to fix this if I can, and please, no need for the trolling comments. Thanks a lot!
