When i load a world i get a black screen, then a white screen

Operating System: 32 Bit windows xp

Java Version: Java 1.7 something like that...

Antivirus Program: I crashed my game somehow, i was on the verge of picking up a pickaxe (dont know if thats important) and my game crashed, i haven't been able to get on my world ever since, all that happens when i try to load the world is that it generates and loads the world, then sound comes on, but then the screen just goes black. after a couple of seconds it goes white and im left to close down the technic window. anyone got a solution?

Have you tried a reinstall (with backups made)? Did you do anything mod-related before the pickaxe thing? Do you have any older versions of Java installed?
