not enough items NEI is stuck in Cheat Mode

So I'm playing AotBT, and so far it's awesome, and everything was running smoothly until suddenly Not Enough Items got stuck in Cheat Mode. I can switch it to Utility or Recipe Mode in the options, but it still functions as if it were in Cheat Mode, giving me whatever item I click on instead of pulling up the recipe or whatever. Reloading the world and restarting the game have no effect on the problem, and everything else is running just fine. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Not sure if this will help, but...

When I first started i had issues w/ the NEI not caring what mode you set it to but would stay at whatever was initialized for the world. I "fixed" this by making a copy of the world set to survival instead of creative and this got the results I wanted.

So I ask have you tried making a copy of the world?

Also try looking for solutions here, but don't pester them about bugs cus it is clearly defined in the opening that this is not the place for it.
