Lag spikes that make the game unplayable

Description of Problem:

I get bad lag spikes every 2 or so seconds that just make the game completely unplayable.

I used to be able to play just fine, perfect FPS. But now I can't play at all, I have a good computer and have tried re-installing the launcher

Did your auto-save get turned on at 2 seconds? It's in the config menus somewhere.

No the auto save is set to 3 minutes.

Even the main menu gets the lag spikes.

You've reinstalled the launcher? Have you tried deleting .minecraft at the same time? I know it sounds weird, but...there are configuration compatibility issues. Also, post a launcher log. It might have something useful in it.

Huh, I reinstalled both technic and minecraft and it helped the problem a lot.

I think it fixed it for the most part, it's definatly playable now.
