Mined blocks dissappearing

Description of Problem:

After a block is mined, the dropped block will either 1.) zoom off in a random direction and stick itself to a wall/ground and become unlootable, 2.) swirl around my myself repeatedly but never actually come into my inventory or 3.) just disappear entirely. These all seem to happen randomly and intermittently, but make mining blocks basically impossible until decides to stop. Any ideas?

Somebody (possibly you) used magnet mode, then shut it off. It seems to be a glitch. The only way to fix it that I've found is either turn magnet mode on and leave it on, or log out and back in with magnet mode off.

This bug can also happen just by turning magnet mode on if the server is even somewhat laggy.
