Launcher only search for updates

Launcher Version: latest (just downloaded)

Operating System: Windows 7 x64

Java Version: 7 update 5 64 bit

Antivirus Program: none

Description of Problem:

i can't get tekkit to work proberly tried both .jar and .exe to start

exe = only says scanning for updates then does nothing.

jar = start fine and plays for 20 min then it lags like hell and crashed and says out of memory

got 8gb ram.

java 64 bit installed

minecraft installed.

and still get this bitchy problem, on my other pc i just star the "exe" file and it works normally without a problem

none just don't start when i use .exe.

out of memory in 20 min when i use .jar

So, use the .jar, and figure out why you're getting a memory issue. It could be you have 32-bit Java and don't realize it, it could be assigning too much memory to the launcher, or a number of other things.

i tried and tried and tried,

im certeanly sure that i have a 64 bit version of java, and i know after a little time playing the game it starts eating up my cpu, and i got a i5 2500k. and then it crashes and says out of memory

Okay, so you're playing the game...you have a launcher log. Post it.

Log inserted.. but still the launcher only goes "checking for updates" then nothing, and the jar file starts the game and then crashes after a little time.

That's not a launcher log from where you've been playing the game for 20 minutes - try again. It looks like an AV may be blocking your connection, but you say you don't have one, so...check for a firewall?
