Cannot reach server

Description of Problem:

I have a server that ive been running off my own computer that myself and a few friends have been playing on. I havnt had it up in about a week. I went to launch it to play on it with my roommate but it says that it cannot reach server. Ive seen a few post about this already but none of the offered advice work. All of my files are up to date ive checked them all. My ip is the same as it always has and the correct port is forwarded. Im just at a loss now as what to do from here. I reinstalled everything fresh as well.

With roommate i think u mean lan play? If lan, what ip are u trying to connect to?

You should connect to localhost

Your roommate should connect to your local ip

Can be found by doning:

Open run

Type cmd hit enter

Run ipconfig

Your local ip starts with 192.168

Let ur roommate connect to that ip

If not lan : is the port open? (25565)

well i use ip because hes not the only one who connects to play but i got it resolved... storms knocked out my net connection the other day so the issue was on my providers side. have everything reset through them and its fixed... shoulda known i suppose lol
