Launcher Version: OSX 1.0.1.3

Operating System: Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.8

Java Version: Java 5

Antivirus Program: None

Description of Problem:

I try running the Launcher and it gives me an Applescript Error. I've done research and I think it's because I'm running an OSX 10.5.8 so I can't get the latest Java Version. I'm just hoping technic will eventually update and let the Leopard users play with this pack.

Error Messages:

"The Action Run Applescript Encountered an Error. Check the actionʼs properties and try running the workflow again"

So, if someone makes a program that only runs well, or at all, on Windows 7, and you're stuck on Windows XP (which isn't supported except in the areas it overlaps with newer OSs), you would expect them to write a special version of their software just for you? Seems like you need to catch up with the modern computing world a bit.

Hey Torezu, I don't know if you like to be a jerk but not everyone can get a nice new mac just like that. Maybe instead of spouting out crap about the "modern computing world" and think about people more. Plus I'm pretty sure its not that hard to adapt a technic launcher for lower computer versions.

Then feel free to do it. I am fairly sure it's harder than you'd think, since software architecture changes with every OS version, and the newer Minecraft mods use newer Java functions, while the older Mac OSX versions can't handle the newer versions of Java. It doesn't seem possible to easily reconcile the two. I refer to this quote: "I'm just hoping technic will eventually update and let the Leopard users play with this pack." It seems like the OP is asking people to solve his problem, only it can't be solved.

Its really not that complicated, and I find it stupid it took me so much trouble to install this... All you need is java 6 se. After you have that installed go to the search spotlight or search bar and search for "java" you should see a "java preferences". Under general settings in "java preferences" select the java 6 se and de-select the others. Then drag the java 6 se to the top of all the others and it should work. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. and YES I AM on Mac 10.5.8 so IT DOES WORK!
